从1965起，我院《山乡风云》一剧曾在北京多次上演，均引起强烈的反响，亦因此剧周恩来总理将粤剧评为“南国红豆”。2011年5月31日，我院红色经典剧目《山乡风云》将受邀赶赴成都华美紫馨国际剧场隆重上演，再次走出广东，展示粤剧魅力。2011年5月18日，《山》剧剧组人员正式开始排练。
